New Zealand is divided into two islands. The international airports are in Auckland (North Island) and Christchurch (South Island).

Queenstown is in the south west of the South Island. If you are planning a fishing trip to Queenstown, it is a good idea to fly to Christchurch and then either fly to Queenstown or take a rental car.

Christchurch to Queenstown is approximately a 5 hour drive and is through some of the most beautiful country in the world. If you have your equipment with you, it is possible to have "a bit of a fish on the way".

There are six major rivers running into the lake. We use either of our launches to gain access to the many rivers and streams, plus trolling for trout and salmon on the lake itself.

To gain access to the high country streams it is sometimes necessary to use a helicopter. This increases the available area and speeds up the amount of time spent actually fishing.

Four wheel drive can be used to access some excellent spots also. The secret is to have the right guide to make sure you are going to the right place.

We are constantly monitoring the fishing and adapting our fly selection to suit the ever changing conditions. Depending on your level of expertise, we will give you as much assistance as necessary to put your fly over some good fish. If you are an expert, we will get you there and advise on the selection of flies, if you are new to fly fishing or of moderate experience, we will assist with stalking techniques, spotting, casting and with a bit of luck, landing a thrashing rainbow or brown.
